I made the coat by tracing a trenchcoat I have, and altering it to have the collar that Komui’s jacket does. The collar and the clasp that holds it shut are both quilted with very thin stuffing, and the lines sewn into them. I was lucky enough to have found similar buttons to the D. Gray-man ones years ago and saved them. His hat is a chef’s hat, instead of a beret, because it seems to have that line around it and the hat I found looked closer to what I thought it should be. Instead of a drill I opted for a crazy gadget and bought a bug-vacuum thing that makes whirring noises and sucks in air and gets weird looks from people. :D The hardest part about this coat was making the pockets fit the seams, and putting the black crosses on. They had to be glued into that shape before I could sew them down because the curve was so small.
