This costume took me so many hours to complete. The wig alone was a 10 hour project, and my very first heavy wig styling project at that; and the dress involved a lot of hand sewing. I used materials I had on hand mainly, and still need to make proper shoulder armour pieces. Princess Serenity is one of my favorite characters, I love her, and I love Sailor Moon. I grew up watching the show, reading the manga, drawing fan art, and have been cosplaying from the series since I started cosplay four years ago. Making this costume was a dream of mine, and I’m glad I completed it on time for the convention. This was my first time sewing a lining, making my own bodice, doing a french seam, and using boning. The inside hem lines are gorgeous, and the closures on the dress are buttons so it has some flow left. I plan to go in and add a circle skirt to make it fuller in the future, as well as add more detailing, but for now, this is one of my favorite costumes I have ever completed.
