A Little About Me
Hello, everyone! Wow, I still can't believe I've made it this far! Truly, I'm honored to be able to call myself a finalist!
When I started cosplaying as a thirteen year old, I never imagined that my silly little hobby would turn into a cornerstone of my life. But I learned more and more about anime and mana and Japan, and I just wanted to make everything from ninjas, to magical girls, to cute yukatas. I learned more about crafting and how to use different materials, even some prop making, and here I am today. Still eagerly learning and working hard to turn my hobby into an enjoyable lifetime career.
Thank you, everyone, for taking a few minutes to read over my profile and throw a vote my way! It truly makes me feel like I'm doing something worth while!
Cosplay 1
Character: Kagamine Rin
Series: Vocaloid (Karakuri Burst)
Description: This cosplay is more fun to wear than it was to make. That dress was honestly a pain, making it fit correctly, and then stay on, without adding a ton of extra seams. The giant bow is absolutely my favorite part! Wherever I can add bows, I’m a happy girl, and bigger -is- better in my opinion. However, by far, the scars were the hardest part. I wanted them to look as real as possible, so I knew I had to go 3D. I did research into making stage makeup scars and discovered my answer: lip liner and a smelly substance called rigid collodion. To put those scars on, it takes someone else to do it, a good hour for all three scars, and a lot of patience. It feels funny and takes ten layers per scar. Message me to learn more! Anyway, the cosplay was a ton of fun to wear and I loved every second of it, even if I was blind in my left eye for the day.

Cosplay 2
Character: Akemi Homura
Series: Puella Magi Madoka Magica
Description: This cosplay was a last minute decision, as I’m famous for. After seeing my friend cosplaying Godoka at AnimeNEXT’s Cosplay Chess, she and my Partner in Crime convinced me to try the series. I did, and totally fell in love with Homura’s character. To be different than anyone else, I decided to do her “Avenging Angel” form, big creepy wings and all. The wings alone took me 6 hours and three people. The cosplay? I had to remake the white shirt once and remake the sleeves three times. Every time I thought they were big enough, and every time I was wrong! Even now, the upper arms are tight. Even so, I had a lot of fun making this cosplay, and thoroughly enjoyed my time on Thursday and Friday at Otakon with my PiC as my own beautiful Godoka!

Cosplay 3
Character: San (Mononoke-hime)
Series: Mononoke-hime (Ghibli Film)
Description: Another last minute decision. I watched Mononoke-hime a week before my second AnimeNEXT back in 2009. I just -had- to cosplay her! In all honesty, I disappeared into my room with two t-shirts, elastic, faux fur, and some model magic, and then came back with this little miracle. My family (particularly my dad and younger brother) thoroughly enjoyed running around the house in my mask and cape!
